• Host is really very nice, she introduce us nice food places around here
• Drive over via the normal route instead of the scenic route (scenic route is very steep driving)
• 20mins away from wineyard (good food!)
• Small town with convenient store

Unfavourable Factors:

• Its a small town, so petrol station and convenient store close very early.

• Greymouth meant a stopover for us

• Cool camp car experience especially, if you did not have a caravan during your trip.

• Laundry with the help of our host

• After parking (outside the house), you might have to drag your luggages up a stairs to reach your room. But we solve it by pre-packed our stuff in our hand-carry every few days so no dragging of luggages!

WELLINGTON (AIRBNB)

AirWe booked the airbnb with a label as The Castle (in Lower Hutt), to find out its designed by a well-known New Zealand architect Ian Athfield. P.S. Ian Athfield is really famous with his work especially – Wellington Central Library, Jade Stadium in Christchurch, and even Bangkok rapid transport system.

Favourable Factors:

• Castle looking house
• Big bathtub and big area for shower

Unfavourable Factors:

• Steep staircase
• The parking is walkable distance from our “castle”
• The house is just too big with 3-4rooms.

If you have follow closely, I have finally (oh yes!) finished this 20 days of travelogue for New Zealand. Honestly, it’s pretty time consuming since I have to go through all the photos and worst, my poor memories to recap all in details. I’m glad I did it, because when I miss going holiday, I can read back and remember all the good old days ?

Good Morning! It’s a raining morning, and we saw a really big wide beautiful rainbow but, sadly… it’s too far to capture on phone

I love how big this airbnb is because, when packing is involve you need this space. Its only within 10minutes away from the airport too. Perfect for a return flight home!

And, we almost forget its weekend, and headed to a quiet city centre of Christchurch hahahahahahaha!

And this also mean, we spent the next few hours, packing our luggages and watching Netflix haha!

Good Morning!
I made breakfast today, while we resume our 13 Reasons why!

I hope the weather will turned better since we are doing our last activities of our NZ trip – Jet Boat. In Queenstown, you can do many different extreme sports but we can’t (we scary and I mean really scary haha!). So, here you go – Jet Boat. I decided to choose Skippers Canyon because I see reviews are good. Well, it’s quite a good experience!

Before reaching the base for Jet Boat, we had to go through Skippers Canyon road which is known as one of the best scenic route in Queenstown. On top of this, its also labeled as one of the most (third to be exact) dangerous road in the world. – We survived, though I really feel worried as the road really narrow and steep. Thanks to our guide, he is full of humor and did share some laughter with us

I always look forward to our home-made meal because I can have really fresh baby spinach as side. I doesn’t know how Aussie and NZ did this, but its so fresh than home. Something I wished I have this back home too.

Our breakfast that doesn’t look good but taste alot better than it looks haha! Salmon with chives cheese cream with potatoes and mushroom!

Our day was really simple, just do some simple walks around Wanaka. My plan was head over to That Wanaka Tree, and have a walk from Glendhu Bay. We will ended a short walk at city centre, and buy some groceries from New World.

My dear friend gave up because she find it boring, I do agreed. So we decided to end our track and headed back early

We picked up a couple from Germany! 

We picked a young couple from Germany at Glendhu Bay and send them back to Wanaka city centre where they left their caravan this morning for the hiking. We exchanged some chats, and they even show us their caravan and told us is really small but everything you need is inclusive – and this included a small kitchen too

Leaving our 9th airbnb. I’m glad Angela and Greg has been really lovely and sharing us some farm tips, we also get to see the silly cute billy that is just 4 months old. It’s been a great 2 nights stay with them. We got all our laundry done, have great sleep because of the comfy room with great views.

Oh yeah, the sun is out! It’s one of the most sunny days throughout the entire trip. I’m glad I packed 2 set of sport wears so I could wear one of them today! Phew

Next, we are approaching towards the last week of our trip. Time flies! We decided to go back to Fairlie Bakehouse for breakfast!

I understand that lavender only bloom during summer and the best time to visit in NZ is January. But I doesn’t want to give up, and thought maybe there’s something else we can see. Maybe a lavender soft serve ice cream :p

Probably one of the hottest day we had, my friend just dump her autumn wear today, basically wearing her summer wear :p We gonna to the famous Fairlie Bakehouse for breakfast before our next small “hike”.

Church of the Good Shepherd, is one of the highlight for Lake Tekapo. I have seen so many photos of this church and understanding that from perspective, it’s actually a very small church. But, I never thought it’s way smaller than I thought haha. And lupins are not in full bloom as well (what a waste!)

Mount Cook – Tasman Glacier Lake

The weather is so hot that we think that we shld not go out and got ourselves bake instead. It’s typically living in a oven that very afternoon. We spent some times doing nothing, people watching at a cafe at Mount Cook Village.

While driving to Tasman Glacier Carpark, we actually saw some filming going-on, will that be the next Lord Of The Rings? haha. Tasman Glacier wasn’t easy at all, it’s 25mins worth of stair climbing :/ In another word  – non stop of climbing steps for next 25mins.

We can’t help it, but stopped the car and take a look at this amazing lake. This is just simply New Zealand, relax and looking countless of beautiful scenery

Lake Tekapo Star Gazing

We signed up this – http://tekapostargazing.co.nz/ for a hot pool while star gazing. Although the weather wasn’t the best, I already spotted so many stars that very day. I can’t imagine with a good clear weather, what kind of sky I will be expecting heehee. Good and simple experience with a guide who shared many stars information and we get to see galaxy as well as the moon through their lens. It’s amazing!
