I’ve always known Granhand has its own café chain, and yes, there is one at Namsan! But don’t blur blur think it’s inside the Namsan Tower ah. It’s actually nearer to the entrance of Namsan Park. And how did I discover this? Thanks to my kaypoh self who keeps staring out of the bus window like I’m on a secret mission. Every landmark also take note one. So during our trip to Sinheung Market (Haebangchon side), my eyes suddenly spotted… Granhand Namsan! (I will share next!)

After exploring Sinheung Market, we wandered into Haebangchon; the next trendy neighbourhood that’s quieter, artsy, and full of that charming mix of history and modern culture. All this while sitting along the slopes of Namsan mountain… very “hidden gem” vibes.

And because we wanted some views, we decided to head back to the café. Best decision.

I was hoping to try their strawberry cake, but it was sold out both times we visited. I’ve heard their cakes are very popular and tend to sell out fast. On our second visit, most of the pastries were gone as well. That said, the space is large and lovely, especially for enjoying the sunset.

HELLOSIHUI’S TIPS: 
Arrive early since sunset draws a big crowd. The rooftop can be a bit cold, but it’s perfect if you want a quieter spot with a great view.

Since our visit to Yongma Falls Park (용마폭포공원) didn’t quite go as planned (hello, dry waterfall vibes ), I wasn’t ready to give up on chasing waterfalls just yet! We made a spontaneous detour to Pokpo Café — a super cute spot where the main highlight isn’t just the coffee, but the actual waterfall right beside it!

Yes, you heard me right.

A café with a waterfall view. Talk about aesthetic goals!

It felt a little bit like we were squeezing in one last adventure before flying off — rushing, but in a “let’s just do it anyway” kind of way.

Sometimes, the best moments happen in between the tight schedules, and this quick stop definitely made up for our earlier letdown.

The view was honestly pretty nice — peaceful, calming, and a little hidden gem feel. But I’ve got to say, the area is super quiet and there’s not much else around, so it’s definitely more of a purpose trip kind of place. That said, if you’re someone who loves slow mornings or winding down with a book, this would be such a relaxing spot to do just that… provided you actually read, unlike me

Still, I think the little detour was worth it, especially when squeezed in between our slightly rushed schedule and our flight later. Sometimes, the in-between moments are the ones that stay with you the most.

I didn’t initially plan to visit this cafe because it’s quite overhyped and not very new. It’s already all over the web and needs no introduction, haha. But since it was on my way, I thought, why not grab a cup of hot milk tea? I really wanted a warm drink, haha.

I actually like how industrial looking it is. So, when it first open, I wanted to visit it badly.

Slowly, year pass, covid happened, and I just didn’t visit this anymore. Coincidentally, I visit this time round while walking pass it!

Honestly, the pastry really look very good. but we are just too full for anything!

I didn’t have any pastries, so I can’t say much about them. I had a full meal at Rain Report and some salted bread at Jayeon Do, so I didn’t feel like I missed out by not eating here. I was satisfied with the other two places. However, I stopped by here because I wanted something hot, like milk tea, and it was on my way to DIOR. Unfortunately, I didn’t get my hot milk tea nor a nice drink in the end.

HELLOSIHUI’S TIPS: 
Plenty of cafes around Seongsu, can really skip this place but pastries does look good!

I’ve had my doubts about the Salted Bread trend in Korea. It seems like every café and bakery offers it, even major chains like Paris Baguette. But are they actually as good as they’re hyped up to be? Is it worth waiting in line for them?

I was so into it that I didn’t even snap a photo because we devoured it while it was still hot and delightful!

Little updates: Oh no, just a little heads up! According to their IG update, this cosy spot is taking a short break for renovations starting 17 February 2025. But don’t worry — you can still get your croissant fix at their flagship store over at Rainreport Gyeongnidan (레인리포트 경리단)!

GLOW SEONGSU has taken over this space, it’s a food hall with 10 international street food!

My first stop for the trip was at an official café. The previous day was filled with errands, during which my cousin and I did a lot of shopping and treated ourselves to a refreshing hair treatment, all to prepare for a great week ahead in Korea.

I was thrilled when this café opened in Itaewon. I wondered if the Itaewon branch was already crowded, so I opted to visit the newest outlet in Seoul – Seongsu.

When a café is popular and shared by many, you often wonder if it will be too crowded or overwhelming. Let’s see if you feel the same after reading this post!

Give the butterslab croissant a try; it’s incredibly delicious! This cafe stood out as everyone’s favorite during the trip. Initially, I had low expectations, but it exceeded them by far. The coffee they serve is also excellent.

To secure a specific seat, it might be wise to arrive a bit early, as it could get crowded after the lunch rush!

Dosan Park, located in the Gangnam district of Seoul, South Korea, is an upscale neighborhood known for its trendy boutiques, cafes, and high-end shopping. Named after Dosan Ahn Chang-ho, it embodies modern luxury while paying homage to the historical figure’s values. It’s a blend of culture, commerce, and history.

And who is Dosan Ahn Chang-ho? Dosan Ahn Chang-ho (1878–1938) was a prominent Korean independence activist, educator, and reformer during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

This visit to Dosan is something different. I usually here for Gaepan. but this time, I am here for the lifestyle brand – Tamburins, Gentle Monster, and the cafe under the same brand – Nudake.

But do I get anything from there? Let’s check out this entry…

It’s actually located very near to the old Gaepan location. Those years I visited so many times, that I have no problem navigate this area now

Nudake Haus: if you are planning to eat anything from their menu, don’t come in the evening. There’s nothing left haha but you get to see the display and imagine their taste.
Gentle Monster: Try everything in all outlet. I got mine few years ago in Mapo outlet. I do enjoyed the interior of every individual outlet they all looks very different and of cos the shade design and stocks differ each store too!
Tamburins: Not cheap, not bad, but I prefer Granhand more!

My Recommendations: I am not very sure how early you have to be here if you are in a very big group but during 3plus 4, the cafe are pretty occupied. I don’t know how people doesn’t work haha. at least 70% are koreans! I think their cronuts are pretty nice, give a try. For photo worthy, get their teddy bear series! They do have bear cube too!
