Granhand is one of my favourite places to visit on every trip to Korea. No matter how many times I return, it’s always on my list. I pick up my own favourites, choose gifts for friends, and somehow end up sharing the brand with everyone around me. If they fall in love with it too, they can always revisit Granhand on their next Korea trip, which makes it even more special, haha.

Over the years, I’ve visited several Granhand outlets across Seoul. You can read more about my experiences at Granhand Dosan, Granhand Mapo, and Granhand Seochon, each with its own mood, neighbourhood, and story. For fragrance lovers travelling to Korea, every Granhand store feels slightly different, yet unmistakably familiar.

This trip, though, is a little different. I’ll be visiting all nine Granhand outlets in Korea — every single one of them. It’s a small personal project, driven by my love for scent, slow travel, and discovering how place and fragrance come together. There’s a reason behind this journey, and I’ll be sharing it with you, one outlet at a time, along the way.

As you may have read in the previous post, this Granhand outlet is located just one floor below the café. It makes the experience even better because who doesn’t love an aesthetic café in Korea? After a relaxed chat with friends, enjoying the sunset view, you can head down to pick up a beautiful fragrance for your home or a thoughtful gift for someone special.

I think Granhand’s visual merchandising is exceptionally well done. Across all their stores in Seoul, each space looks beautiful and thoughtfully designed. Even though every outlet has its own unique touch, you can immediately tell that it’s still Granhand.

They have different series and this store also sell beans!

And the main reason behind this Granhand journey is the Granhand Passport. There are a total of nine stores, and we’ll be visiting every single one of them to collect a unique stamp in our Granhand Passport. Once all nine stamps are completed, we’ll be able to redeem a special gift.

But honestly, it’s less about the gift and more about the journey itself exploring different neighbourhoods, stepping into each Granhand space, and enjoying the process along the way.

I’ve always known Granhand has its own café chain, and yes, there is one at Namsan! But don’t blur blur think it’s inside the Namsan Tower ah. It’s actually nearer to the entrance of Namsan Park. And how did I discover this? Thanks to my kaypoh self who keeps staring out of the bus window like I’m on a secret mission. Every landmark also take note one. So during our trip to Sinheung Market (Haebangchon side), my eyes suddenly spotted… Granhand Namsan! (I will share next!)

After exploring Sinheung Market, we wandered into Haebangchon; the next trendy neighbourhood that’s quieter, artsy, and full of that charming mix of history and modern culture. All this while sitting along the slopes of Namsan mountain… very “hidden gem” vibes.

And because we wanted some views, we decided to head back to the café. Best decision.

I was hoping to try their strawberry cake, but it was sold out both times we visited. I’ve heard their cakes are very popular and tend to sell out fast. On our second visit, most of the pastries were gone as well. That said, the space is large and lovely, especially for enjoying the sunset.

HELLOSIHUI’S TIPS: 
Arrive early since sunset draws a big crowd. The rooftop can be a bit cold, but it’s perfect if you want a quieter spot with a great view.

Hello hello!

I’m finally back from my trip (yes… for a week already) and my heart + camera roll are overflowing. I have so much to share—like really, so so SO much. Think: 18 days of adventures, food comas, accidental discoveries, repeated favourites, and brand-new gems. And not just Seoul… we hopped around Jeju, Wonju, and Icheon too! That’s already a whole buffet of stories, right?

I know some of you have been peeking at my IGS and the reels. Don’t worry, more are coming (three on the way). I promise you’ll be in good hands once everything is up. It might take a while though… I’ve only managed to organise all the photos into albums. Editing? Watermarking? Ehhh… let’s give me some time. Good things need patience, right?

One of the main reasons for this trip was to snap some really nice photos—and guess what? I ended up visiting INSPIRE Arena, a super cool, brand-new indoor arena in Incheon!

Opened in November 2023, INSPIRE Arena is part of the Mohegan INSPIRE Entertainment Resort and can seat up to 15,000 people (yes, it’s huge!). It’s not just for concerts—this place hosts everything from sports and esports to exhibitions. And the best part? It’s designed with amazing audio-visual systems and a flexible stage setup, which makes every show feel extra exciting!

Plus, it’s really convenient to get to, especially from Seoul or even Incheon Airport. Perfect if you’re flying in just for a show (or, like me, to take some cute photos for the memories ).

There’s CU here, where you can grab something here to eat and drink!

You can see a wide variety of themes and concepts showcased on this massive LED screen — it’s absolutely stunning.

The LED screen at Inspire Arena is seriously impressive, with so many different themes and concepts displayed—it’s such a visual treat! I’ll be uploading the video I captured on YouTube soon and will share the link here once it’s ready!

Another hidden gem in Incheon for all the photo lovers out there! If you’re hunting for your next Instagram-worthy spot, this might just be it!

Does this bring you back to… Paris? I miss my Paris trip so much — the vibes, the cafés, the corners that felt like a movie set. This spot in Incheon gave me a little taste of that again!

It’s a bit of a pity that if you’re not staying here or nearby, chances are you won’t make a special trip just to snap some photos. I did notice a few tour groups around—maybe they’re staying here, or perhaps they came for the casino (not too sure!). But honestly, such a beautiful spot deserves to be shared with everyone! Maybe consider doing a night’s stay here—it could be a nice little getaway, and it’s super convenient to head to the airport from here too!

HELLOSIHUI’S THOUGHTS:
It’s a little bit of a pity—if you’re not staying here or somewhere nearby, you probably won’t come all the way just to take a photo with this super pretty LED screen I did spot a few tour groups around though! Maybe they stayed at the hotel, or maybe came for the casino? (I’m not too sure hehe~)

But seriously, this place is way too pretty not to share! If you ever get the chance, maybe plan a night’s stay here! It’s a nice mini getaway, and it’s also super convenient if you’re flying off the next day—Incheon Airport is just nearby!

The Pop-up is already over.

As someone who loves sharing travel finds — especially anything Korea-related — here’s something fun I stumbled upon during my trip: a pop-up store featuring Kian84!

I’m a huge fan of variety shows, and I couldn’t resist sharing this with anyone who loves a good laugh. If you’re looking for something light and absolutely bizarrely funny to watch over the weekend, you must check out Kian84 B&B on Netflix. It’s hilariously random, and that’s what makes it so entertaining!

I was pretty excited when I saw the pop-up along the way while heading to Seongsu for a stroll — such a nice little surprise!

That said, the pop-up is already over, so don’t go looking for it. But the good news? The show is just a click away on Netflix. Go watch it and enjoy the chaos!

If you’re a fan of the show and already on your way to visit the ever-popular Seongsu, there’s no harm in dropping by! The pop-up store was very simple — nothing too fancy. But just a heads-up: it’s already over, so don’t go hunting for it! It was only around during the time I visited.

Still, I thought it’d be fun to share this little experience! I’m not particularly a fan of anyone in the house, but the show is just too funny not to talk about!

After our failed salmon meal in Melbourne last year, we made a promise – our next standby holiday had to include a proper salmon dish. Who would’ve thought it’d take a whole year to make that happen? I actually didn’t plan to try this at first, too many people were raving about it, and I couldn’t help but wonder, how good can salmon noodles really be? But hey, it’s salmon… so we gave it a shot. Let’s see if it really lives up to the hype!

Alright, I finally gave it a try! Honestly, it didn’t live up to the hype. I remember hearing about people queuing for hours just to get a seat, but with more outlets now, it’s much easier to dine in without the crazy wait. Still… I think the hype was overblown haha.

Sure, it’s kind of fun to see salmon served in thick slices, but that’s really all there is to it. You could easily buy good salmon and cut it yourself at home, it doesn’t quite feel worth spending a whole meal here. My cousin even mentioned not feeling full or satisfied after the meal. Perhaps the expectations set by social media were just too high.

So… I’ll pass. Not something I would recommend or return for.
(Which explains why our next stop was for some bread, more on that in the next post!)

HELLOSIHUI’S TIPS: 
On the bright side, the perilla oil noodles were actually interesting and enjoyable, something different that stood out in the meal.

Important tip for travellers: They do not accept foreign credit cards, which was a big surprise. We were lucky to have brought cash, so be sure to carry some with you if you’re planning a visit!

Suguksa Temple might be small and tucked away in the quiet corners of Eunpyeong, but it’s truly one of a kind — it’s said to be the only golden temple in Korea! With its stunning gold exterior glowing against the backdrop of lush mountains, the temple stands out beautifully, especially under the autumn sun. It’s peaceful, photo-worthy, and holds a rich history too, making it a lovely hidden gem to explore when you’re in the area.

Did you know Suguksa Temple has a royal connection? Hidden in the calm hills of Eunpyeong, this peaceful little spot is actually linked to a dramatic piece of Joseon history. The temple was built in memory of Crown Prince Uigyeong, the son of King Sejo—yes, the same king who took the throne from his own nephew!

Uigyeong never got to be king himself; he sadly passed away young, at just 20. But his story didn’t end there—his son later became King Seongjong, one of Joseon’s most respected rulers. Suguksa was created to honor Uigyeong’s spirit, giving this quiet temple a powerful backstory filled with love, loss, and legacy.

So when you visit Suguksa, you’re not just enjoying a peaceful escape—you’re also walking through a slice of royal history wrapped in mountains and temple bells.

It’s a Buddhist temple, but whether you’re Buddhist or not (or of any religion), it’s always interesting to visit a place as special as this. The calm vibes, the golden shine, and all the intricate details in the architecture — there’s so much to appreciate just by slowing down and taking a closer look

This one definitely stands out from all the temples you’ve visited before — or even the ones you haven’t yet. The golden look gives it such a unique charm, it really feels like you’ve stepped into something special

The name 수국사 (Suguksa) translates to “Temple of Protecting the Nation” in English.

수 (Su) = to guard or protect / 국 (Guk) = nation or country / 사 (Sa) = temple

So the name Suguksa carries the meaning of a “Temple of National Protection”, reflecting its spiritual role in safeguarding the country — which makes its peaceful yet powerful presence even more meaningful.

Seoul Children’s Grand Park is a huge family-friendly park in Seoul that offers a mix of nature, animals, and fun activities! Located in Gwangjin-gu, this park is perfect for a relaxing stroll, and the best part—it’s totally free to enter!

There’s a small zoo, plenty of walking trails, and during our visit, we even caught some outdoor performances, including live singing! It’s a lively and enjoyable spot, perfect for a chill day out in Seoul.

Our pit stop here is to hunt for cherry blossom!

Speaking of disappointments, I traveled quite a distance to Yongma Falls, excited to see the biggest artificial waterfall in Asia… haha. I thought this trip would make more sense compared to just visiting a café (which, yes, I also went to—for a particular reason that I’ll mention shortly).

The walk to Yongma Falls was short but surprisingly tiring, especially since we were on a time crunch—our flight was later that evening! ‍ Still, we wanted to make full use of our last day in Seoul by exploring something a little different from the past few days, which had started to feel a bit repetitive. Gotta squeeze in as much as we can before heading home!

Haha, it was exactly like this—SO SAD!!! Just when I finally made the trip, they were doing maintenance… oh no!!! What are the odds?!

If you’re a fan of Chinese cuisine, you’ve probably heard of Chef Lee Yeon-bok (이연복), the legendary chef who refined Menbosha (멘보샤) and made it a household name in Korea. Originally a Hong Kong-style dish, Menbosha is a deep-fried shrimp toast that became incredibly popular after Chef Lee showcased his version on the TV show “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator” (냉장고를 부탁해). His perfectly crispy, juicy Menbosha gained so much attention that many restaurants and home cooks started recreating it!

Today, I’m excited to share a Chinese restaurant that serves this famous dish—along with many other delicious specialties. If you love crispy shrimp toast and authentic flavors, this is a place you won’t want to miss! Keep reading for all the details.

The menu is in Chinese, making it easy to order if you don’t read Korean—though there are no photos, so be prepared to recognize dish names!

Heads up! The Menbosha (멘보샤) needs to be pre-ordered when making a reservation. Since I booked online, I couldn’t place the order in advance, but luckily, the staff checked with the kitchen, and they had extras for us! Super lucky!

I absolutely love how thick and juicy the patty is—made with real prawns! The bread is thin and perfectly crispy, creating the ideal contrast. I mean, nothing beats a dish that’s so simple yet incredibly hard to execute perfectly, right?

I think this is definitely worth trying, especially if your hotel or Airbnb doesn’t allow you to order delivery yourself. This might just be one of the best options in Seoul! That said, I personally still prefer the delivery versions—they’re packed with umami, and the way they’re sealed during delivery keeps everything moist and flavorful!
