[Events] Surprise Birthday Party for Melanie!

We have successful got this surprise done yesterday with really great helps from everyone! Love the surprise look from Mel and I guessed all these worth so much better and in fact, most of us have lots of fun as well. So, here I am going to write everything done to mark this memorable day of the year! (so far lah~)

On Wednesday, we actually contacted our partner-in-crime Jody (Mel’s hubby, our friend as well) for their house key at Pungool. We ain’t going to rob their house or something, but in fact, preparing something BIG for the birthday girl on her actual birthday! The good thing was they will be away from home on thursday – friday for their family chalet! Which means, Mel will not be suspecting anything going on their house too! haha! WE GONNA MESS IT UPSIDE DOWN lol!!!!

On Thursday, Chef Jolene had done her grocery shopping right after work, and these was pretty tiring for her two hands :/ but thanks to her, we really have a great dining experience! 🙂 THANK YOU CHEF! ^^

At the same time, teng was doing the brainstorm for the event, and I was doing some help out and some cutting of deco as well 🙂 Just by looking at it, I felt the excitement haha! 😛

On friday, Teng & me actually have a day off to prepare the day starting at 1:30pm. At the same time, all of us have already got notify that we should dressed well for tonight event since its going to be a TOP-NOTCH restaurant concept. We picked up our first helper of the day – Zhili from tampines for our IKEA + GIANT shopping! We actually bought some props for the concept tonight from IKEA and not forgetting a little bit of grocery buying from GIANT. I really love how these places are placed side by side which made things really so much easier for us.

We reached JOMEL’s place at around 4pm. Teng did the table setting, zhili helped with the head banner ribbon and I was doing the pumping of balloons. Since pumping of balloons doesn’t need much concentration, I switched on the TV (when the owner was not even at home LOL!) to watch hahahahaa! After pumping 2 balloons successfully, the pump doesn’t work anymore… And, I have to manually get the dumb balloons up that eventually made me so tired and hungry…. I even woke zhili up if she wanted to share a packet of instant mee together HAHA!! 😛

And check out our dining setting (with lights on). I must say it’s super gorgeous and awesomely done 🙂 I love how much effort (buay paiseh say all these) on doing little bit of stuff to give the best experience to mel and every single one who took part in this because, we all made this happen 🙂

At around 7pm, Angela Chris and Jolene reached. With the minimum time – 1.5hours left we had to prepare the food setting and the touch up setting in the dining area. Now, everyone had reached, it made things way easier with more hands to get everything done in time… We left 1.5hours  for everything to do ready  🙂

Angela helped Teng with the add on deco, while Chris and Zhili helped with the Smoked Salmon Canape (looking yummy seriously!). And, of cos, I’m CHEF Jolene assistant for helping her with the salad and pasta. hur hur! 🙂 But well, I know NUTS on cooking seriously! This mean that… photos for the photos are upcoming soon! :)))

Our Chef is really good in cooking, and I must say it’s really good. The feedback for the pasta was really good. All of us love it so much, the sauce was really awesomely great. The taste with little bit of wine make it really taste delicious that words can’t express how good it was. As much as the dish was served with just prawn and scallop the taste doesn’t fail us any. We were really proud to say that, this pasta was done so much better than what outside had served. All the dishes are really good, but the pasta really impressed us alot! 🙂

So, what’s next will be just waiting for the Birthday girl to open the door. And, we have to patiently wait and looked out for the sound from the lift. This was so challenging and fun indeed.

Well, the video was commented abruptly stopped as usually haha! But, well, the birthday girl requested photo session right after that. I was the videographer as well as the photographer of the day, so I have to switch my role and definitely…. stopped that video haha! (The photo session took so long that we probably only able to have our dinner at least 30mins later…!)

And the food and party begins! 🙂
