Korea 2025: Mandong Bakery 만동제과

[Travel in April 2025]

Remember in the previous post, we went to try that famous salmon noodle? It turned out to be just meh not super exciting after all. So I turned to Shuying and asked, “Wanna try this garlic bread instead?” She looked a bit doubtful and was like, “How nice can garlic bread even be?” 😅

I told her, “I’m not sure eh, but everyone’s raving about it! Like must try, must must try! The highlight of the bakery!”

Honestly, I thought it would be from some trendy, Instagrammable café… but turns out, it’s just a super normal-looking neighbourhood bakery. Totally unexpected!

Does it worth the money? It’s looks super goooood!

Very simple looking bakery!

Look like what you can find in your neighbourhood!

🙂

Shop front!

We bought one to share, and we ate right in front of the door step. It’s so goood!

We went back to buy 2 more, to bring it back home! 🙂

Look at this SO GOOD. WL said it’s really nice! (despite re-heat it in the oven!)

I must say, you must try, must eat, must come! It’s really that kind of “don’t judge a book by its cover” place. Simple-looking, but wow, so worth it!

My favourite Hongdae exit 3! 🙂

Cross the zebra crossing and walk straight 🙂

Cross again and walk straight

continue to walk straight 🙂

turn right, and cross the zebra crossing 🙂

Cross the zebra crossing 🙂

Turn left 🙂

Continue to walk straight!

HELLOSIHUI’S THOUGHTS:

No second thoughts! You just have to come and eat this. It’s a total MUST-EAT! Add it into your itinerary, even if you’re just passing by — grab one and munch it on the go, haha 😆

This is Korea, not Japan — you can walk and eat at the same time!
And who knows? You might end up like me… going back for another piece after just one bite!

HELLOSIHUI’S TIPS:
If you’re planning to eat it outside like us, come prepared! 😆 Bring some wet tissues and whatever you need, because it’s super gooey and messy — it’ll be all over the place, haha 😜
