명동교자

Myeongdong is a street of skincare and fashion, where you will definitely visit whenever you head over to Korea. But, in between the shopping, I am very sure that your hungry stomach will growl and you need a meal. If its at night, street food is usually your number 1 choice, how about when its lunch time? The answer will be Myeongdong Kyoja! I love the place when Im visiting there in group of 3-4 persons, so I can get to order all 3 items from the menu.  And with no fear, the kalguksu’s noodles are available for free refill! Omg! How I wish, the soup does come for free refill too, its too tasty with flavourful broth that you can’t stop tasting it. hehe.

Korea: Bliss & Bless Cafe

At 3:15am, I just finished my work, and I thought I should spent some time writing a new blog entry as I’m very much missing Korea now. This was the cafe I first visited back than in 2012. It’s already 2 years ago, definitely I’m afraid that the cafe might have closed. So, I checked with my best friend – Google, and they are still in operation – Yay! This cafe was located very near to the guesthouse (IB Ville) I stayed which I will passed by every single day.

Korea’s AH PAUL

Paul, one of the most famous name in 2010. The PAUL, I’m referring to wasn’t too far from the one you might be thinking right now hur hur. Yes, the non other Live Octopus. We must have seen it often from movie and drama… Oh especially, Hello Stranger.

I thought that it could be one of the “brave-daring” thing you should ever tried when you visit Seoul! I don’t deny it wasn’t anywhere pleasant to try since its LIVE and living during the moment you consuming it. But since it’s a little culture from oversea, I guess you should give it a try? How about just one time? ;)

The very first time was honeyeee whom bring to Hyehwa for Joanne’s and mine last day seoul trip! It was terrible enough not to know this little dish earlier ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Though we have our worries and scary that it might just wriggling in my throat or by chance stuck somewhere….. We still go ahead and give it a try! A nice try I admit :)

Photobucket

// Alight at Hyehwa station Exit 4.

Photobucket

// when we exit the subway, will probably see a few tents like this. Some of them will come after work and have a drink. It’s kind of fun to see Korea so close, just like what we usually see from TV.

Photobucket

/// the live seafood, kinda cruel though…

Photobucket

/// the special sauce that goes well with the food. Slurp.

Photobucket

Photobucket

/// the live octopus really taste good and in fact have the familiar texture like jelly fish!

Photobucket

—-

Since we were already at Hyehwa, we shouldn’t forget those street food selling in tent. Those you see on tv, drama just right in front of me. Kinda excited for this.

During my second trip to Seoul, we actually went on 3 meals for dinner on this day. Korean foods are just too sinful, and it’s a little sorry to your stomach if you never filled it with good food LOL!!!

I actually love the hot soup they provided, especially on this cold winter night! I actually refilled so much times that I had already lost count for it… 하하하하~~ And i love that….!!! the fish cake! :))

Honestly, a big group like us, a number of almost 10, definitely bring ahjuma some laughters. And, ahjuma definitely love us so much to give us more food! 하하하하~~

HAHA’s Pal Ja Mak Chang (팔자막창)

[April 2015 NOTE: HAHA’s Pal Ja Mak Chang has already closed. At the very same location, HAHA’s opened his very own brand BBQ restaurant- 401. I have visited it finally during my recent trip (2015 March/April) – Read it here: Running Man’s HAHA Loco Quan 401 at Hongdae]

(credit: haha’s) Running Man have been a great hits in Korea as well as Asia. Even my aunty is watching Running Man, and loving Kim Jong Kok! And, when there’s news about Running Man’s HAHA & Leessang’s Gary also have franchise Makchang’s BBQ restaurant… everyone is delighted to visit. And, heard that they adopt the concept of Running Man in their restaurant. I think there’s many ways to reach HAHA’s restaurant, but my way get to see Hongdae more. If you wished to walk along Hongdae, shop and see a little more, come with me, follow me :) Subway: HongDae Station Exit 9 (Green Line)  It will be really good if you have Google Map or any GPRS device with you, because it will not be easy to find, though… you can bring me along with you :P After exit, you get to see some street stall selling very lovely clothes for your doggie, and also, cheap and pretty hair clips/socks. Not forgetting, street food. I remember I have taken photos of it, but apparently, I can’t find :/

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket #students having their performances Photobucket #someone singing~ but when we reached, he finished the song! Noryangjin

24 February 2012, 8th day in Korea.

Noryangjin, one of my favorite eating place in Seoul, at this very moment. I finally find myself a good break away from chicken and pork. Not that, I don’t eat meat that often, but, I don’t eat it as a daily basis, and sometimes, I am actually perfectly enjoy my meal even though there is no meat in it. I think, in Korea, everyone loves chicken so much (can see from all their franchises chain stores mainly related to chicken) it seems like, we are having chicken meal every single day. Sometimes over 3 meals in a day. Korea’s chicken must have some really special ingredient that make it taste so good. But, I really doesn’t like to have it almost everyday / every meal!

Well, if that’s the case, Noryangjin might be for you! (But, it’s kind of cruel that most of them are LIVE seafood!)

It’s not too difficult to go Noryangjin. You can take the Seoul Subway to Noryangjin via Line 1 or Line 9. Though they don’t share the same station, but they are only 25meter away from each other :)

Photobucket

#Noryangjin station that really look very different. It feels like those country-side train station. Got excited and take lots of touristy photo to remember! :)

Photobucket

#the train that are moving very fast (when we are standing outside) slow when we are inside :/

Photobucket

#empty tracks that give a very beautiful feel.

All we need is to pay them the cooking and seating cost :) Heard from violet, this is the cleanest place here. So, we will recommend you to have your meal here again :)

Photobucket

#abalone..

Photobucket

#some of them doesn’t take raw food, so we order a seafood pot! FISHES, i saw. I love the soup! Im a soupy person :D

Overall, I really enjoyed this very special experience, from deciding the food to selection. Then, get it cooked by the restaurant for our delicious dinner spread. But, this place definitely not for a non-seafood person. I have no idea if they provide non-seafood soup base for us though. I love the food, can’t forget the salmon, and wished there’s more days for us to come again.

This is definitely a place I will bring my friends if we are heading to Korea together! :)

First Skiing Experience

19 February 2012, my 2nd day in Korea!

(this doesn’t sound reasonable as I blogged everything else already. but this is supposed to be the first entry that I wrote :/)

Everyone should have an idea about I have just came back from my 14 days Korea trip. And, many most of you did not know that, the main reason that I wanted and driving me there is Skiing. I really wanted to try Skiing and probably have fun on the white snowy ground/land (whichever you called it).

Before the trip, I was really quite tied up with work, and it is my first time not doing any itinerary before a trip. Seriously, I hate this feeling because it is like not studying anything and enter the examination hall. The feeling is equally bad. But, I really have to thank CIN for helping us so much in preparing this trip to be much more organize and fruitful one. CIN had been doing research and emailing the correspond to secure everything on our behalf. (Not forgetting Joanne as well).

ZOOM to the day of my very very first skiing trip. I thought my trip was really exciting because skiing was on my second day. It supposed to be a 6 pax skiing class, but due to Joanne’s brother fall sick, hence together with Marilyn they decided to give it a missed. And, 4 of us, Cin, Joanne, Emily and me decided to go ahead for skiing since it was already planned. I so wanted to go, though I do feel bad leaving 2 of them while all of us heading there to PLAY.

We took a package with VIPTravel. This package inclusive of our gears and coaching session. — This cost us W75,000. Our coach brought us to a place where we get to select our full gears. The girls laughed at my own logic of “Skiing must wear super colorful clothing!”. Hence I really picked a PINK clothing because my logic is that Skiing supposed to wear as colorful as possible. But please don’t ask me why :S

Photobucket

// Breakfast from Paris Baguette! I always love Egg Sandwiches :D

Photobucket

// All Ready! Full-Gear for skiing!!! :DDD

Photobucket

// weather is soooo cold that I can actually write on the window screen!

Photobucket

// the colorful clothes!

Photobucket

// colorful pants

Photobucket

// and i am just so colorful, though i look like a ball but i like it!

Photobucket

// 4 of us, excited to go for skiing

Photobucket

// yes all ready!

Photobucket

// the skiing place look soooo wonderful! :D

Photobucket

// looking around snapping around.

Photobucket

// Jisan Resort!

Photobucket

// hehe, emilyjj and cin omma :D

Photobucket

// 4 of us all ready… excitement on our faces?

Photobucket

// one more! :D

Photobucket

// with Joanne! :D

Photobucket

// smile!! :DDDD

Photobucket

// where we rent our gears!

Photobucket

//

Photobucket

// lots of little kids as well :D

Photobucket

// our shadow! :D

Photobucket

// me! and joanne in another way! :/

And off we had our lunch! :DD

Photobucket

// on our way of searching food :/

Photobucket

//

Photobucket

// the place look so pretty!

Photobucket

// our gloves!

Photobucket

// Cin bought this, and its really good for such cold weather!

Photobucket

// Cin bought this for us to try, and I just got addicted. I love pocari sweat max :D

Photobucket

// our lunch spread!

Photobucket

//

Photobucket

// i wasn’t too hungry, but look at it, it seems delicious so i ordered… but i can’t finished :/

Photobucket

Photobucket

after this we headed back for skiing, and its fun with little episode on my skiing, making me laugh non-stop! even by thinking of it right now. i still can’t forget that very moment. I can’t explain much but i have to say, i really really had a unforgettable experience LOL! Well, shortly after a few round, guessed we were all too tired for anything, hence, we ended our skiing and headed for some warm food and drink :D
Photobucket

Photobucket

// Return….!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

// warm food! hahahahaha! :D I think is one of the best moment to eat all these during this weather. cold yet warm.

Photobucket

// headed back home. and this is what we saw! This is actually golf course but i never seen brown land for golf course lol.

Photobucket

// snow on the road.

Photobucket

Little Episode happen during my skiing.

Despite various fall, I still enjoyed alot, and willing to go up and skiing a few times. I mean, this is my main objective/purpose of my trip, of cos I will give my best to enjoy it! During one of our last skiing session, while going up the slope by the travelator… Both of us witnessed this girl who nearly fall got ‘bounce back’ because of the ‘fence’ near the travelator. Hence, both of us do agreed that, if I really lost my balance… I should goes towards the fence (both right and left side…) at least I still able to keep myself standing and gain my balance somehow. So, just when I was skiing down the slope, I knew I’m going to fall… and the worst is that, someone is in front of me… First instinct was to ensure I don’t knocked into him, and next I realised his BOOT and SKIING gears is where I was skiing… After ‘siam-ing’ 2 of this, I totally lose my balance… till I saw the ‘fence’…… And thought that I was pretty safe to ‘knock onto’ the ‘fence’….. WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED THIS TO HAPPEN… (I can’t actually remember that very 5 seconds of moment) but I actually flips over the fence after knocking to it….. WITH the skiing gears!!!! No one actually helped me which I don’t know why, and then…. Joanne and Cin had a hard time finding me because…. I am…… ‘out of the frame’ and not in my usual BLACK! :S Well, i really like the experience though its a little scary due to the speed, but I don’t mind trying it again :)
